Gemstone Lore: What's in a Gemstone?

I am going to be carrying more gemstone type jewelry in the near future.  Of course I am naturally drawn to faceted pieces that will have tons of sparkle but there are various sizes, and shapes, cuts, and finishes.

I thought it would be fun to see what each type of gemstone is believed to do to help people.
