Bridal Line Coming Soon!

NEW Bridal Line Coming!!

My personal website is always changing and we are always looking to expand our inventory. We have decided to start a bridal line. There is a lot of bridal jewelry out there, and we are very aware of the options. Our goal with this line is to introduce unusual designs that you won't find anywhere else!

We are going to stand by our signature Swarovski looks but create "ICE"! You can expect HUGE sparkle but we aren't going to stop there. We are going to offer something "old" our vintage glass buttons are perfect for this. Even better something "blue". You can get a vintage glass button ring that is blue to fit both of these!!

Look at this beautiful baby blue, vintage Glass button:

We also started creating Swarovski Button rings, which can provide a sophisticated look, and give a nice sparkle. These are beautiful, and come in a variety of shapes and sizes.

Many of our Swarovski Bracelet designs will become available in all silver, crystal, ice and can also be made into necklaces. Here are examples of our designs, but can be made in any colors!

Lastly, I want to point out that we are one of the few sites out there that offer complete customization. We even have a page dedicated to custom orders, where you can input your criteria and submit to me. So these designs are basically ideas for you to use and to customize for each individual occasion you have. So consider these designs for your special occassions, and especially for gifts! Your bridal party would love it.

Here is a link to our custom orders page, we LOVE custom orders. They give me a chance to create something outside of my box, and to create something truly special for you and your special occassion!

I would love to hear your feedback on this new line. And I would especially love feedback on our custom order page.

Thanks.

Janet

Spring Jewelry Beading Contest Enter Now!

Well I am announcing Trinkets First beading contest!  I am an avid fan of reality shows, such as project runway or top chef.  And it inspired me to create a similar concept but for jewelry.

I plan on holding a contest 3-4 times a year.  Each contest will have a different theme.  For this first contest I have partnered up with Mustache Destash.  She has created really cute clay beads that are inspired by the upcoming Spring season.  In order to enter the contest you must have the kit.  Each person is required to use the beads within the kit so that is why I had to partner with a supply shop.  In order to supply the kits for the contest.  Not every contest will be held like this, but in this particular one I wanted to see how many variations can be designed using the same beads.  Since there are many different techniques, and materials I think this could be very interesting.  You are not limited to using ONLY these beads, you can add to the kit and use wire if you do wire wrapping, or thread to do beadweaving etc.  But the kit is the base for your designs.

You can buy the kits here:
http://www.etsy.com/shop/MustacheDestash

Please look for the listing with the Name:  DIY Spring Bead Kit - Handmade Polymer Clay Beads
Here are a few pictures of what the beads look like:

As you can see there are some beautiful Spring colors, and a variety of shapes... leaves, birds, flowers... so much fun!

You can see all of the details about the contest and the Prize lists on my website here:
http://trinketsnwhatnots.com/pages/JEWELRYCONTEST.htm

Once you receive your kit, start creating.  Make sure to take really good pictures of your creation and then send them to me.  As I receive submissions I will place them up on that page of my website.  April is our goal to have all submissions, so you should have 2-3 weeks to create a beautiful piece.

Then start spreading the word to all of your friends, family, twitter, facebook etc. because I will place voting buttons below your piece for them to vote.  I will be offering 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place prizes.

PLUS the Winner will be our 1st/original title holder of Trinkets Winning Designer!

I hope to hear feedback from you all.  Let me know your thoughts, ideas... and progress you are making.
Thanks.
Janet

Fashion Trends 2010

I found a really helpful blog, filled with AMAZING information!  One thing I stumbled upon were the fashion trends that are being seen on the runways.

Some of the trends highlighted in this article that I am particularly interested in with my jewelry are:

Layered looks:  Take multiple strands of beads and mixing them up!  Using multiple materials too, to create more texture and interesting dimensions.  This is exciting because the options are endless with layers!

Here is one of my layered necklaces that is an assymetrical design. This necklace isn't overly complicated but I just love how it looks like a vine around your neck and perfect for the Spring as things start to turn green:

Another trend that I LOVE are the use of flowers and floral patterns, I have used a focal bead in the necklace below that has a beautiful, sparkly flower.  I just love this for the Spring.  Lots of new jewelry in my shop and on my website.

One other design I would love to share is another floral necklace, with an assymetrical design.  I have used a focal bead that is floral, and used Swarovski yellow crystals on one side, and white and green pearls on the other.  The focal bead is off center, but adding the different colors on each side really accentuates the assymetrical design.  I think this screams SPRING!!

For more details on all of the trends highlighted in the blog I have referenced you can go here:

I would love to hear your feedback on these designs.  And your thoughts about the fashion trends.  Which ones are you following?

Thanks.  And for more designs you can go to my website:
