A picture of me and one of my Italian Greyhound doggies :) Isn't she precious (the dog LOL)
I am really excited to share with everyone where I work. So I just have my setup around my breakfast room/dining room. I have my kitchen table to create my jewelry and behind the table is a china cabinet. I use the china cabinet for all my mailing needs. I keep the jewelry boxes in the cabinet, my mailing envelopes, bubble wrap, my return address labels, business cards, pens, scissors and packaging tape all in that china cabinet behind where I work. This way I can quickly package things up, and I also file away the receipts for all my shipments.
Then I have a TON of kitchen cabinets/pantry in the breakfast room. But I had WAY too much inventory to organize, so I had to get rid of my food and fill the cabinets with all my bead boxes. There are 3 huge cabinets all filled with bead boxes, and bags of buttons.
And these bead boxes are 2 deep, meaning there are just as big of stacks BEHIND all of these. PHEW! I always joke I have my own personal bead store but I really do.
But even those cabinets weren't enough so then I bought some plastic organizers with like 10 drawers. Those drawers are organized by material. The top drawer has all my wire in it, the 2nd drawer is nothing but different types of glues, the 3rd drawer is filled with a boatload of seed beads etc. It makes things extremely efficient for me to know exactly where things are when I need them, and to have everything in one area.
Check out my seed beads:
Each bead box I have is organized by the material. The box below is filled with all kinds of jump rings. Angela (http://www.angelaspaperart.etsy.com/) asked if I had one jump ring for a pendant she wanted. I had to laugh, I am not sure if I have one to spare :)
And I have told many how many buttons I have. I have been lucky to have people give me their stashes and then I of course found a ton myself. Check out this small stash:
So that is how I work. I try to keep it organized, I kind of have to since there is such a large inventory to track. I hope you enjoyed seeing this. I can't wait to see what space you guys work in!!!
Have a good week.

ReplyDeleteOMG!!!! When can I come shopping??? You seem so organized. I wish I had that kind of space, and that it was organized. Maybe once I get all my stuff.
ReplyDeleteIt wasn't always this way but as I grew I had to figure out a system. I remember at one point spending days to find where I had my glue LOL
ReplyDeleteAnd I thought to myself I can't keep up and be productive like this. So I try to organize. I just slowly kept adding new organizational tools to help me.
Well, Ms. Janet, you have tons of beads! Your doggy is so cute, such a sweetheart!
ReplyDeleteThanks for inviting us to your place.
You have a TON of supplies, and luckily you have storage space equal to the task! It's all very organized, and having your shipping supplies close at hand like that is sooo convenient - really speeds up the process! Great workspace :D
ReplyDeleteThanks Pritty :)) I love my animals that is for sure!!
ReplyDeleteLOL Jill :) I had to give up food to have that storage space hihihihi It was worth it I think. LOL
ReplyDeleteWow! My den couch is my only workspace. You are so organized!
ReplyDeleteSo where did you put all the food? I am amazed at how organized people are, I spend so much of my time looking for things that are lost in the mess. Lots of good organization tips here if the spirit ever moves me.
ReplyDeleteWell Judy, I have to admit my kitchen is a MESS. Lots of the canned and boxed stuff sits on my kitchen counters now. LOL I had to sacrifice for my jewelry :)) And my light box and setup is on my kitchen island. I really don't have a kitchen LOL
ReplyDeleteWow, look at all those beads! That's quite a stash! Love the cleanliness of your table as well. You're a very organized person! :)
ReplyDeleteAwesome! Lucky I wish I had that much space to use :)
ReplyDeleteoh so neat now im embarrassed my workspace is utterly messy!
ReplyDeletewow!!! janet, your workspace is really organized! i'm still trying to figure out a method to organize mine! :)))
ReplyDeleteSo organized! I tend to keep things in big boxes. So much better to keep things in clear boxes with rooms in it! Great workspace! :)

ReplyDeleteWOW! Lots of beads to organize. It looks great and nicely organized.
ReplyDeletewow, that's a lot of stuff, but you can't create if you don't have!
ReplyDeleteVery organized! I like your dog, too. We almost got a greyhound once, but we didn't have enough room for her to run in. So we got a lazy basset hound instead and a little boston terrier/beagle mix. LOL.
ReplyDeletethanks for the pic, now I'm able to put a face next to your name!:) so much stuff and yet so organized, I can see why your workspace didn't need cleaning!
ReplyDeleteThat is a lot of beads!! Why do we need food any way? Really - what's more important? Food or sanity?
ReplyDeleteLOVE your space! Could use some more cabinets in my room too.

ReplyDeleteIt's great to see your face with your pooch.
Your bead boxes look like mine, I have so much stuff that it is sometimes a surprise when I find something I forgot I had!!!
ReplyDeleteWow, that's impressive! I have some of those divided containers for jewelry supplies but I'm not that good about keeping things segregated.
ReplyDeleteWow, all these post with organized people are making me thinking about order all. Green with envy with your organized boxes... I have not boxes enough...
ReplyDeleteGreat blogpost!!! Love to see you and your dog.
Wow! Lots of supplies, but your organization is phenomenal....I guess with that much stuff, you have to be extra careful to keep it in order or you'd spend the whole day looking for stuff! :) Thanks for the peek!
ReplyDeleteI just wonder where you keep your food? LOL!
ReplyDeleteYou are very organized!
